Continuing our efforts to avoid having to use Cruz del Sur again (story to follow, but best not to read it while you are eating your dinner!), we paid 400 Soles for a private taxi from Paracas to Lima.  The price originally quoted was $135, which about 430 soles (approx £92), based on an overly favourable exchange rate of 3.2 to exchange dollars into Soles.  Fairly pricy! So we had to ‘think about it and count our money’ and said we’d go for it if they could do it for 400 soles (£85).

Again, we knew that this was a great deal for the taxi driver but it was worth it and much cheaper than a 4 hour taxi journey in England.  We also went through a few tolls, which the driver paid for (12 soles each way I think).

The car was a comfortable Hyundai with air conditioning. So no complaints there. We stopped at a service station briefly for toilet break (banos) and snacks.
